On an overcrowded, heaving sailing ship, chained like slaves, an unexpected storm breaks loose. The battle of life and death begins when the captain decides to “set his cargo free.”
Sonett is released; her desirable body apparently still brings a high price on the slave market. Syoss, on the other hand, though in perfect health, has little control over his sharp tongue—something that always turns against him, especially when faced with the wrong person, and above all someone with great power.
The two lovers, Sonett & Syoss, manage to touch each other only briefly, fingertip to fingertip. Brutally torn apart, Syoss knows she is safe for now and prays to the Almighty as the hatch is flung open with the rattling of chains. One by one, screaming voices vanish through the opening. Syoss closes his tear-filled eyes, waiting for the sudden yank on his shackled legs, praying it will be brief.
