The beautiful city of Zรผrich. In several places on the street I see slogans written against the war in Gaza- Pro Palestina and against Israel’s policies. Then I come across a demonstration of about 300 people with protest signs and flags.
Between the protesters , children also walk along.
Here, you donโt need to fear any violence.
No precision bombings that level buildings to the ground.
No wailing cries of children in famine, cutting straight through your bones.
No stray bullets during silent protests.
No mass migration of emaciated displaced people, driven out by the violence of war.
Here, you can walk freely, while in Gaza an immense human tragedy unfolds โ far beyond any rational sense of humanity, the voices of outrage resound. Soft against unyielding hard.
It is a city that speaks with its heart.
One voice is better than none.

Switzerland supports the vision formulated by the UN Security Council of a region with two democratic states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and within secure and recognised borders.
