People hurried past, coats pulled tight, eyes fixed on the pavement. Among them stood a lonely mime player. Here face was painted white, a single teardrop drawn beneath one eye. She wore a black hat that seemed just a bit too large for here narrow head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Without words, She built walls that weren\u2019t there, pulled on ropes no one could see, and fought against a storm of air. At first, passersby didn\u2019t glance here way, but a little girl stopped. She clutched her ice cream tightly and laughed when the mime pretended to stumble over an invisible stone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Slowly, her mother stopped too, and then a few others. The square, so gray and hurried, suddenly found color through the mime\u2019s silent games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When she bowed deeply and removed here imaginary hat, applause rang out.
